aglientu
Located on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, in the province of Olbia-Tempio and in the historical sub-region of Gallura, the coastal stretch of Aglientu offers the opportunity to admire a very beautiful corner of Sardinia, away from the chaos but at the same time convenient to visit many areas renowned. The village, inhabited by just over a thousand people, is perched on a hill 420 meters above sea level, in the hinterland. The landscape is characterized by huge granite boulders, uncultivated valleys alternating with vineyards in which the popular Vermentino di Gallura is mainly produced. Among the excellences of the area there are also the artisanal production of bread, pastry and hand made pasta In summer, festivals are organized during which it is possible to taste cheeses, cured meats, and the typical dessert stuffed with cheese and covered with honey, all strictly local: the seadas. In the area of Aglientu, surrounded by nature, there are numerous churches (from the oldest, seventeenth-century, dedicated to San Pancrazio, to the most modern, dedicated to San Biagio, built in the second half of the last century). Still in the Aientese countryside, between grazing cows and old abandoned stazzi, it is possible to visit the Tuttusoni nuraghe, single tower, presumably built around the XNUMXth century BC, in a panoramic position on the coast of Monti Russu and Vignola. The beaches are undoubtedly the main attraction of this area: some equipped with bathing establishments, others pristine, some easy to reach, others that require a few minutes' walk, but all characterized by clear and transparent water. A visit to Monti Russu is recommended, a small crescent-shaped beach without any kind of service. For all those who love not only to bring their dog to the beach, but also to leave him free to swim without restriction of time , it is impossible not to mention the Litarroni beach, surrounded by Mediterranean nature and which boasts an equipped area dedicated to our four-legged friends. Very nice and equipped with showers, establishments, bars and restaurants, the beach of Vignola Mare and, immediately nearby, the Torre beach, both of sand mixed with rocks and with a bottom that slopes quickly, deserve to be seen. The coastal stretches of Aglientu are not too chaotic for most of the summer, making it the ideal destination for couples and families looking for relaxation without giving up on unforgettable beaches. For the more adventurous, towards the west in the Costa Paradiso area a walk on the rocks opens up a "postcard" view of Li Cossi beach, which will remain etched in the most evocative memories of your holiday in Sardinia. On the opposite side, to the east, the renowned areas of Santa Teresa di Gallura and Rena Majore.
