Ile Rousse


As the main locality of the eastern part of the Balagne, a region that hosts the most famous seaside resorts of Haute Corse, Ille Rousse stands as a reference point for those looking for relaxation and dream beaches.

It owes its name to the purple color it assumes the Ille de la Pietra, a romantic island (connected to the mainland by a pier) easily reachable on foot from the center, which leaves an indelible memory in couples who love to walk to the lighthouse at sunset.
Crystal clear sea, white beach, a beautiful promenade where families can stroll in the evening, and immediately behind the town, with its lively square, the "old town" and the traditional covered market, will characterize your holiday in Ille Rousse.

In the surroundings of Ille Rousse, reachable by car or, for the more sporty, on foot with a path overlooking the sea about three kilometers long, they are worth a visit Plage de Bodri e Plage de Ghjunchitu, the "wildest" beaches in the area.

To visit the many beaches in the area, or even simply to admire exciting views , from Ille Rousse to Calvì the Train de la Balagne (affectionately called Trinighellu by the inhabitants ), which allows you to move without worrying about traffic or where to park your car.
